WHY GIRLS?

Menstruation is the number 1 reason why girls miss school in Kenya.

1 extra year of primary school boosts girls' eventual wages by 10-20% and an extra year of secondary school adds 15-25%.

In Sub-Saharan Africa, fewer than 1 in 5 girls make it to secondary school.

For every one additional year of education for women of reproductive age, child mortality decreases by 9.5%. Medical complications from pregnancy and childbirth are the leading cause of death among girls age 15-19 in the developing world.

Girls in developing countries between the ages of 10 and 14 are FIVE times more likely to die in pregnancy or childbirth than women aged 20 to 24.

Adolescent girls have the POWER to end world poverty. So, let's support their most basic needs!
